Just to clarify, my comment on the Nikon D80 blogger relations effort was not meant to suggest that the campaign was not effective. I was merely commenting on some of the backlash from bloggers who didn’t think it was an appropriate means of outreach: The commentary that raged briefly criticizing the approach was probably not what Nikon wanted. But the outreach itself WAS successful and the campaign WAS effective.

Being that I’m still in the “owe you a review” category, I really just want to say here that it’s really neat that you’ve responded to the early criticisms and that’s cool.

As someone who’s started but never finished about a million book projects (okay, 850,000), I commend you for hitting the finish line at all. People saying book writing is easy are crackheads.

As for information currency, paper freezes. That’s a negative. Paper is portable. That’s a positive. There are trade-offs, and hey, having a “real” book means a lot, as you and I both know.

So there.
